Aviators to Offer Special Promotions & Theme Nights During 2018 Campaign

CARLSBAD, Calif. – (June 19, 2018) – The San Diego Aviators, featuring Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., native Taylor Fritz, will open the 43rd season of World TeamTennis Presented by GEICO on Sunday, July 15, 2018 against the Springfield Lasers at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, 2100 Costa Del Mar Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92009.

Fritz, currently ranked No. 69 in the ATP World Tour singles rankings, will play the first two home matches this season for the Aviators. The 20-year-old, who is considered one of the up-and-coming stars on the men’s professional tennis tour, will make his second appearance of the season for the Aviators on Monday, July 16 against the visiting Philadelphia Freedoms.

The Aviators 2018 roster also includes Naomi Broady and Marcus Willis from Great Britain, along with doubles specialists Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany and Marcin Matkowski of Poland.

This season, the Aviators are “Amplifying” the fan experience with planned theme nights, nightly give-aways, new food vendors, happy hours, live music and an interactive Kids Zone located next to Stadium Court.

One of the Theme Nights on the 2018 schedule is Military and First Responders Night on Monday, July 23 when the Aviators take on their Southern California rival, the Orange County Breakers.

Discounted tickets will be available to members of the Military and First Responders. Also on that evening, a portion of ticket sales, as well as $100 for each Ace served during the match, will be donated to Star/Pal, a nonprofit organization that provides over 10,000 youth services annually in inner-city neighborhoods throughout the City and County of San Diego.

On July 16 and July 28, tennis fans can arrive early at the matches and enjoy a special “Happy Hour” with live music and discounted drinks. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. on those dates.

Monday, July 30 has been designated “Members Night” as members of the United States Tennis Association and San Diego County Tennis Club will be recognized. All USTA members and tennis club members are encouraged to attend and can receive a discount on tickets for that evening’s match against the New York Empire.

The GEICO Gecko, one of America's favorite advertising icons, will make guest appearances at home matches on July 23, July 28 and August 2.
